Geology is natural science, which through the exact and basic sciences (mathematics, physics and chemistry) and all its tools, investigates the natural environment of the planet, interacting with Biology in several aspects. Geology and Biology are the natural sciences that allow us to know our habitat and, therefore, act responsibly in the human activities of occupying, using and controlling natural materials and phenomena (INSTITUTO DE GEOCIÊNCIAS, 2014).
