Agribusiness involves the entire production chain: “before the gate, within the gate and after the property”. Agribusiness is the sum total of operations for the production and distribution of agricultural supplies; production operations at agricultural units; and the storage, processing and distribution of agricultural products and items produced with them. And it involves everything from scientific research to the commercialization of food, fibers and energy (Davis; Goldberg, 1957). 

Mato Grosso ranks first in the Brazilian ranking in the production of cattle, soy, cotton, and corn. In grain production, MT is responsible for 20.55% of national production and 3% of world production (IMEA, 2013).
